The Dallas Symphony Orchestra today announced programming and artists for the 2019/20 Texas Instruments Classical Series, the Dallas Symphony Pops Series, Movies in Concert, family concerts and further innovative programming.

The New York Pops, led by Music Director and Conductor Steven Reineke, gives a concert entitled Movie Mixtape: Songs from the Silver Screen, on Friday, March 15 at 8:00 p.m. in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall, joined by acclaimed vocalists Mykal Kilgore, Storm Large, Ashley Park, and Ryan Silverman. The orchestra performs iconic songs from beloved movies include 'Over the Rainbow' from The Wizard of Oz, 'Moon River' from Breakfast at Tiffany's, 'The Way We Were' from The Way We Were, and 'Footloose' from Footloose.

Aspiring young performers ages 8 and older are invited to register for up to eight different Master Classes taught by professional artists who have performed on the Goodspeed stage, on Broadway and around the country. GLAAD, the world's largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) media advocacy organization, today announced that the nominees for the 30th Annual GLAAD Media Awards will be announced live from Park City, Utah from the AT&T Hello Lounge during the 2019 Sundance Film Festival on Friday, January 25. The announcement will be hosted by Mj Rodriguez (FX's Pose) and Nico Santos (Crazy Rich Asians, NBC's Superstore). GLAAD is an Institute Associate of Sundance and will also host on-the-ground events during the 2019 Sundance Film Festival to raise visibility of LGBTQ-inclusive films and LGBTQ filmmakers.

Earlier today, BroadwayWorld was saddened to report the passing of the legendary Carol Channing. Channing died at 12:31am on Tuesday, January 15th, 2019, at home in Rancho Mirage, CA of natural causes.

As it approaches its first anniversary, Frozen is pleased to announce that Joe Carroll (Once, Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella, Bandstand) and Ryann Redmond (Bring It On The Musical, If/Then) will join the company as Hans and Olaf, respectively, and current cast member Noah J. Ricketts will assume the role of Kristoff.

Joe's Pie Diner will open up with Richard Kline in the role of 'Joe' when the tour is in Spokane, WA just prior to its Sacramento engagement. Waitress is the hit Broadway musical from Grammy nominee Sara Bareilles inspired by Adrienne Shelly's 2007 motion picture. The Broadway On Tour presentation of Waitress runs at Sacramento Community Center Theater from Dec. 27, 2018 through Jan. 5, 2019.

It was announced today that the Original Broadway Cast Recording Of The Prom is set for digital release December 14th and physically January 11th.  Available for preorder now, the album is produced by Scott M. Theatre production company Parity Productions has released its monthly list of Qualifying Productions for December -their popular directory of New York City shows in which the individual creative teams have 50% of the positions filled with cis women and trans and gender nonconforming (TGNC) artists (directors, designers, and playwrights). 

This December, the popular theatre podcast Broadwaysted is once again releasing a star-studded parody radio play to celebrate the holiday season...and this time, it's a musical!
