Los Angeles-based, all-female punk band The Linda Lindas performed “Oh!” last night on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Band member Mila De La Garza, at age 11, is also the youngest musical performer in Tonight Show history. The song comes off of their recently released debut album Growing Up and follows a run of dates with Jawbreaker at Irving Plaza in New York and a sold out headline show at Mercury Lounge. This marks their third late night performance. Last month, The Linda Lindas performed on The Late Late Show with James Corden and they performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last year.

“Interpret it well,” reads the script text in Raymond Pettibon’s mysteriously evocative drawing. A few thick black ink strokes describe an enigmatic landscape – the telephone poles, the railroad track and the building in the distance seem obvious enough as markers of desolation, but the swirl of lines on the horizon are more ambiguous. The steam from an approaching train? An oncoming tornado? Hope or dread, connection or destruction, all depend on interpretation.
