Today, acclaimed songwriter & activist Justin Tranter and powerhouse music industry executive Katie Vinten have officially unveiled Facet House, the brick-and-mortar headquarters for their very own Facet Records & Facet Publishing. In addition to serving as homebase for the record label and publishing company that the duo co-founded in late 2018, the space also boasts a stunning, state-of-the-art recording studio for artists and songwriters signed to both divisions of Facet. Variety exclusively broke the news earlier today in an expansive feature.

The Echo Theater Company Will Present the World Premiere of POOR CLARE

Clare is just a regular noblewoman living in medieval Italy, trying out hairstyles and waiting to get married... until a man named Francis starts ranting in the courtyard. The Echo Theater Company presents the world premiere of Poor Clare, a play by Chiara Atik about what happens when your eyes are opened to the injustice of the world around you - and you can't look away. Alana Dietze (Dry Land, The Wolves) directs for a March 14 opening, with performances continuing through April 20 at Atwater Village Theatre. Three 'pay what you want' previews take place on March 11, March 12 and March 13.

Acclaimed guitar virtuosos Rodrigo y Gabriela won the GRAMMY for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album at the 62nd GRAMMY Awards ceremony yesterday. The award was given for Rodrigo y Gabriela's latest album METTALVOLUTION, (ATO) their fifth studio album and first in five years. It was the duo's first-ever Grammy win. Rodrigo y Gabriela have been traveling the world in support of METTAVOLUTION, and are announcing new tour dates with a performance at the Majestic Theatre (224 E. Houston St.) in San Antonio, TX on Wednesday, March 11 at 8:00 PM. Tickets go on sale this Friday, January 31, at 11:00 AM.

In 2018, the U.S. Supreme Court handed a narrow victory to a Christian baker from Colorado who refused for religious reasons to make a wedding cake for a gay couple. Hailing from a conservative North Carolina background, playwright Bekah Brunstetter is personally familiar with people like Della, the protagonist of THE CAKE, and ideally positioned to protect her and defend her humanity, while also setting her on a path to self-reflection and change. Although the story may be ripped from the headlines, Brunstetter tells it from the perspectives of a quartet of ordinary, yet multi-faceted characters, each of whom comes with a strong set of beliefs.

There will be a preview performance 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan 30; press opening is 8 p.m., Friday, Jan. 31. Performances run through March 1.
