On Saturday, April 25, 2020 at 4:00pm, the Handel Choir of Baltimore, in collaboration with Community Concerts at Second, presents Song of the Birds: A Pablo Casals Tribute at Second Presbyterian Church featuring acclaimed Baltimore-based cellist Amit Peled in the world premiere of Baltimore-based composer Joshua Bornfield's Houses of Peace. The program also includes works by Hindemith, Brahms, Lauridsen, and James Lee III, as well as Bach's Cello Suite No. 1 in G Major featuring Peled. From 2012 through 2018, Amit Peled performed on the Pablo Casals 1733 Goffriller cello.

With Anupama Chandrasekhar's When the Crows Visit playing its final week and Mike Bartlett's Snowflake in rehearsals, Artistic Director of Kiln Theatre, Indhu Rubasingham, today announces the full cast for her production of the UK première of Antoinette Nwandu's Pass Over. Joining the previously announced Paapa Essiedu (Moses), are Alexander Eliot (Mister/Ossifer) and Gershwyn Eustache Jnr (Kitch). The production opens on 19 February 2020, with previews from 13 February, and runs until 21 March.

The third and final volume of Utah Symphony's Saint-Saëns recording series is released digitally and on disc by Hyperion Records on Friday, November 29. Conducted by Music Director Thierry Fischer, this collection includes the first commercial recordings of the complete Saint-Saëns symphonies by an American orchestra, and each volume also looks beyond the composer's symphonic output to include additional orchestral highlights in his oeuvre. The new album features Symphony No. 1 in E-flat major; Symphony in A major, written when the child-prodigy composer was only 15 years old; and The Carnival of the Animals.
