Bay Street Theater is pleased to announce the cast of SAFE SPACE (June 25 - July 21) is now in rehearsal.The new play is by Alan Fox; directed by three-time Tony Award winner Jack O'Brien (All My Sons, Henry IV, Hairspray, The Coast of Utopia). The play will star Mercedes Ruehl (Torch Song, Hustlers, Bay Street's Viva la Vida!), Sasha Diamond (Blindspot, The Romanoffs, Murphy Brown) and Rodney Richardson (The Day Shall Come, CBS's FBI, Somebody's Daughter). Baillie & the Boys, gained prominence in the late 1980s as the trio (Kathie Baillie, Michael Bonagura, and Alan LeBoeuf) first found work singing harmony vocals on singles for Ed Bruce, Dan Seals, and Randy Travis, and Bonagura co-wrote Marie Osmond's single 'There's No Stopping Your Heart'. In 1987, Baillie & the Boys were signed to a record deal with RCA Records. Their self-titled album was released that year, producing three Top 20 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Singles charts. Turn The Tide, their second album, was released a year later. It produced four consecutive Top 10 hits on the country charts, including '(Wish I Had A) Heart of Stone', their highest-charting single.

Pasadena Playhouse, the State Theater of California, is pleased to announce that casting is complete for the Los Angeles premiere of Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa's Good Boys starring Betsy Brandt (CBS' Life in Pieces, and AMC's Breaking Bad) as Elizabeth Hardy, and directed by Carolyn Cantor on the mainstage of Pasadena Playhouse. The production will play June 26 through Sunday July 21; the press opening is June 30 at 5:00pm.

Cinema/Chicago today announced its annual free Summer Screenings Program with a selection of 17 feature films and one short film from around the world exploring the theme of adventure. All screenings are free and open to the public and take place on Wednesdays at 6:30pm from May 29 through October 2, 2019 at the Chicago Cultural Center (78 E. Washington Street, 2nd Floor) in the Claudia Cassidy Theater. Summer Screenings is presented by Cinema/Chicago in partnership with the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events and 17 consulates and cultural institutions from around the city.
