Czechoslovak-American Marionette Theatre will reprise its 2021 marionette production of 'Audience' by Vaclav Havel, translated and directed by Vit Horejs, September 1 to 3 at 7:30 pm and September 4 at 3:00 pm at the Bohemian National Hall.

Alabama Shakespeare Festival's Southern Writers Festival of New Plays will return to the State's Theatre on July 16. The festival will feature readings of three new works - Kudzu Calling by Donnetta Lavinia Grays, Trouble at the Vista View Mobile Home Estates by Audrey Cefaly and Zelda in the Backyard by Elyzabeth Gregory Wilder.

While Christine Rea and Rick Briskin’s musical bills itself on the whole as an exercise in nostalgia, the most nostalgic part of SKATES for me was seeing DeGarmo and Young perform; I rooted hard core for DeGarmo back in her AMERICAN IDOL days. Here, she shows why— she has a tremendous powerhouse voice and an appealing stage presence that make her a consummate performer. Director Brenda Didier and choreographer Christopher Chase Carter work with a cast of Chicago musical theater veterans who perform alongside DeGarmo and Young.

Yale Repertory Theatre has announced its 2022–23 season of four plays. The season will begin with Edward Albee’s Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, running October 6–29. James Bundy, who directed Albee’s A Delicate Balance at Yale Rep in 2010, will stage this new production of the explosively comedic and harrowingly profound masterpiece.
