Continuing its 2017 2018 Season, Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC) presents Twelfth Night. Directed by internationally acclaimed director Ethan McSweeny and featuring Antoinette Robinson (previously announced) as Viola and Tony Award-nominee Hannah Yelland as Olivia, Shakespeare's comic tale of unrequited love will run at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F Street NW) from November 14 December 20, 2017.

Theatrical talent from across the country will converge on Houston to bring the 5th Avenue Theatre Company and the Shakespeare Theatre Company co-production of THE SECRET GARDEN presented by Theatre Under The Stars.

3-D Theatricals (3DT) rings in its 2017-1018 season at both the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center (RBPAC) and the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts (CCPA) with Mel Brooks' Young Frankenstein, a musical comedy from the Broadway creative team of the 12-time Tony Award winning smash hit The Producers. David Lamoureux directs with Corey Hirsch serving as Musical Director and Daniel Smith as Choreographer. Company members of Peninsula Players Theatre, America's oldest professional resident summer theater, celebrated the announcement of Chicago's 2017 Joseph Jefferson Award nominations with the listing of several current and past company members. The Joseph Jefferson Awards are Chicago theaters' equivalent to Broadway's Antoinette Perry "Tony" Awards. 

Portland Center Stage at The Armory's 30th anniversary season opens with the groundbreaking, Tony Award-winning musical Fun Home. Created by Jeanine Tesori (music) and Lisa Kron (book and lyrics) and based on the celebrated graphic memoir by Alison Bechdel, Fun Home will begin preview performances on September 16, open September 22, and run through October 22 on The Armory's U.S. Bank Main Stage. Artistic Director Chris Coleman will direct a cast lead by Allison Mickelson, Sara Masterson and Aida Valentine as the central character, Alison, at three different ages. Robert Mammana (previously at The Armory as Skye Masterson in Guys and Dolls and Father in Ragtime) and Faith Sandberg will play Alison's parents, Bruce and Helen Bechdel.

How do you take hundreds of kids (ages 7 to 17) and put up over a dozen shows (mostly musicals, plus a few plays) in as little as three weeks, with rehearsals limited to maybe just 12 or 13 days, with all or most of the cast rehearsing just slightly more than two hours each day, and many campers working on multiple shows at once? And I'm talking about completely staged shows with full production values, including sets, lighting, sound, costumes and live orchestras. Not only that, imagine repeating this same frenzied process four times over the course of a single summer.

Direct from Broadway, THE COLOR PURPLE is the Tony Award-winning revival of the truly remarkable musical adapted from Alice Walker's best-selling novel. Directed by Tony winner John Doyle (Sweeney Todd and The Color Purple), the critically acclaimed revival will come to Atlanta from October 24 to October 29 as part of the Fifth Third Bank Broadway in Atlanta 2017/2018 season.

Due to overwhelming demand, the critically-acclaimed IN & OF ITSELF - created and performed by three-time Academy of Magical Arts Award winner Derek DelGaudio (Nothing to Hide) and directed by four-time Emmy Award winner Frank Oz (Little Shop of Horrors, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Star Wars) - has announced that 200 more gold bricks will vanish, 200 more elephants will appear on stage, 200 more people will be kicked out of the show, and 30,000 more identities will be revealed, at the Daryl Roth Theatre in Union Square. In April 1950, a young Harold Prince took his first stride on Broadway, assistant stage managing the Grace and Paul Hartman-led revue TICKETS, PLEASE! at the Coronet Theatre. Now, six decades, 21 Tony Awards and over 50 Broadway shows later, Prince prepares for another Broadway opening - this one, a revue of his own work.
