Utah Symphony | Utah Opera announced today that Paul Meecham, president & CEO, will be stepping down at the end of this month. He has served in this position since July 2016. Patricia A. Richards, who served as chair of the USUO board from 2005 through 2014 and was interim CEO from 2015 through 2016, will become interim CEO starting October 1, 2019.

The Colorado Music Festival today announced the appointment of conductor Peter Oundjian as its next Music Director. He is the fourth person to hold this title in the 42-year history of the festival, which is held for six weeks each year at the Colorado Chautauqua, a National Historic Landmark at the foot of the rugged Flatirons. Mr. Oundjian led the 2018 festival as Artistic Advisor, and his appointment as Music Director was announced along with the festival's 2019 season, which runs from June 27 to August 3 and explores the legacy of Beethoven.

Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts,  which brings audiences world-class theater, dance and music performed by many of the most sought-after artists,presents Chris Walden Big Band with a program that pays tribute to the "Rat Pack" era on Saturday, October 27, 2018, 7:30 pm,in the Bram Goldsmith Theater at The Wallis. Beloved storytelling nonprofit The Moth today announced that, after a nationwide search, Alabama-based author and small business owner Tonya Scott Williams was selected as the first fan to host a special episode of its ultra popular podcast in honor of the show's 10th anniversary. Slated for release on Friday, July 13th, the special show features three stories hand-picked by Williams-one previously aired on The Moth Radio Hour plus two that have never been heard before-along with snippets from other pitches to host the podcast.

Each year, as a part of the Jilline Ringle Solo Performance Program, 1812 Productions hosts residencies for three female solo artists, providing them with essential time and space to continue development of original solo works.  This year, 1812 Productions and the Advisory Board of the Jilline Ringle Solo Performance Program are pleased to award residencies to Folaranmi Afolayan, Pratima Agrawal, and Alexandra Tatarsky. The summer residencies will take place from Monday, July 9th through Sunday, July 15st.

Bourgere (THE CRUCIBLE, A RAISIN IN THE SUN) will be featured in the world premiere of THE BEAST IN THE JUNGLE, an original work fusing dance, drama and music by legendary composer and four-time Tony Award winner John Kander (CABARET, CHICAGO), Tony Award nominee playwright David Thompson (STEEL PIER; FLORA, THE RED MENACE), and five-time Tony Award-winning director and choreographer Susan Stroman (THE PRODUCERS, CONTACT). Performances will begin May 4, 2018 with opening night set for May 23. Kander, Thompson, and Stroman previously collaborated at The Vineyard on THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS.

Casting has been announced for the World Premiere of Great Apes from the novel by Will Self; reimagined for the stage by Patrick Marmion.
