Two major reunion shows will take place this week on “Stars In The House,” all to benefit The Actors Fund. On Friday, June 4, they will bring together the cast of the beloved Emmy Award-winning series “Kate & Allie”. On Saturday, June 5, Seth and James will be celebrating the 20th Anniversary of Seth’s “Dreamgirls” benefit concert.

The criteria are that these shows have been nominated for Best Musical from the 3rd Tony Awards (the ceremony that started the Best Musical category) in 1949 to the nominations of what will now be the 74th Tony Awards in 2021. Theatr Clwyd today announces its Writers in Residence and Companies in Residence for 2020, as part of the TYFU|GROW Creative Development Programme. Writers' residencies have been awarded to Hannah Daniel, Katie Elin-Salt, Jennifer Lunn, Wyn Mason, Lisa Parry, and Kristian Phillips. Companies' residencies have been awarded to Archipelago, Francesca Goodridge and Dan Lloyd, PRIDD, and Signdance Collective.

West Side Story is officially in previews on Broadway! The new production is directed by Tony Award winner Ivo van Hove; and for the first time ever in the United States, will feature all-new choreography by the internationally acclaimed Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker. West Side Story will begin previews on December 10, 2019 and open February 6th, 2020 at the Broadway Theatre.

Compagnia de' Colombari, an international collective of performing artists founded and directed by Karin Coonrod, presents More Or Less I Am: a music-theater piece drawn entirely from Walt Whitman's revolutionary free verse long poem, 'Song of Myself,'one of the original twelve pieces that comprise his 1855 collection Leaves of Grass. Manca poco meno di un mese all'evento teatrale piu atteso da tutta la comunita teatrale di tutto il mondo: il 9 giugno infatti, al Radio City Music Hall di New York, si svolgera la 73esima edizione dei Tony Awards. Per la seconda volta, James Corden sara il presentatore di questa serata, dopo aver ricevuto un Emmy Award per la sua performance nel 2016. Il 30 aprile, Bebe Neuwirth e Brandon Victor Dixon hanno annunciato i nomi delle opere teatrali (play e musical) in diretta streaming.
Noi di BroadwayWorld non stiamo piu nella pelle! Ma soprattutto non possiamo stare con le mani in mano e, per il bene comune, vogliamo parlarvi un po' dei protagonisti di quest'anno: attori e spettacoli per lo piu poco noti in Italia ma che rappresentano, senza ombra di dubbio, il meglio di questa nuova stagione di Broadway. Nota a margine: ci muoveremo esclusivamente all'interno dell'ambito del teatro musicale (non ce ne vogliano gli appassionati di plays).

Technically any venue with 500 seats or more, located along Broadway in New York City's Theatre District is a Broadway theatre, and the art that is produced in these special places is widely considered the highest form of theatrical entertainment in the world.
