Keen Company has announced additional dates and venues for its site-specific production of Joan Didion’s The Year of Magical Thinking. Starring Obie and Drama Desk Award winner Kathleen Chalfant, this must-see revival, running October 19–November 20 with an opening set for November 2, will be intimately staged across New York City.

TimeLine Theatre Company’s 2022-23 season will continue this fall with the landmark classic Trouble in Mind by Alice Childress, directed by TimeLine Company Member Ron OJ Parson, running November 2 – December 18, 2022.

From Oct 28 through Nov 3 BAM presents Metamorphosis: The Films of Shinya Tsukamoto. An underground filmmaker who got his start in Japan’s punk super-8 scene in the 80s, Tsukamoto embraces the maggots, memory loss, and severed heads of genre filmmaking with formally striking works that range from the bloody to the bizarre while grappling with the frailty of the human body under the stress of technofuturism and late capitalism.

The world premiere of Bach Dance Project, inspired by Paul Taylor’s modern dance and Johann Sebastian Bach’s music, will take place on October 25th as part of the 50th anniversary of the Cervantino International Festival in Guanajuato, Mexico. 

MCC Theater has announced the return of their full in-person season for the MCC Youth Company and Student Matinee programs after operating remotely and in a hybrid program for the last two seasons. MCC will be hosting a two day in-person audition on Thursday October 20 and Friday October 21, 2022, from 4:30 – 6:30pm.
