BroadwayWorld is saddened to report that stage and screen actress Pauline Collins, who played the title role in the solo play Shirley Valentine, has passed away.

Director Lee Lewis brings Willy Russell’s (playwright) one woman comedy SHIRLEY VALENTINE back to the Sydney stage with Natalie Bassingthwaighte as the famous housewife that talked to walls and rocks.

'Love Letters,' the timeless play by A.R. Gurney, will be presented for two dinner performances for Valentine's Day Weekend 2025, at 7:30 p.m. on Friday Feb. 14 and a matinee performance at 3 p.m. Sunday Feb. 16 on the Theatre at the Center stage at The Center for Visual and Performing Arts, 1040 Ridge Road in Munster, Ind.

Written by Willy Russell, Cotuit Center for the Arts’ production of Shirley Valentine is directed by Jay Stewart and stars Kristin Stewart as the titular Shirley.

In the hands of Hill and May audiences sit back, relax, and fall spellbound as she shares stories of her very average ordinary daily existence. May’s command of the stage for two hours is impressive. Her Shirley is comfortable, relaxed, and easy to get familiar with. She evolves into a wise and trusted old friend.

Following the success of Noël Coward's Private Lives in September which raised £44,000 for the Royal Theatrical Fund, Lockdown Theatre today announces a live virtual table read of The Real Inspector Hound by Tom Stoppard, in association with The Royal Theatrical Fund. The Octagon Theatre has announced that they will be staging a brand-new production of Willy Russell's comedy, Shirley Valentine, in February 2020, directed by Artistic Director Lotte Wakeham.
