Local audiences are looking forward to another season of thought-provoking, professional theatre at Open Book Theatre Company (OBTC) in Trenton as they gear up for their sixth season. Kickshaw Theatre, Ann Arbor's pop-up professional theatre, will stage three full productions for their 2019-20 season, their 5th since the company's founding in 2015. The Oregon Shakespeare Festival today announced six new commissions as part of American Revolutions: the United States History Cycle, OSF's multi-decade program of commissioning and developing 37 new plays about moments of change in United States history. The commissioned artists are Zakiyyah Alexander, Jaclyn Backhaus, E. M. Lewis, Mary Katheryn Nagle, Sara Nović, and Sanaz Toossi.

The cast of 'ANNE FRANK, a musical', based on Anne Frank's life will feature 12 artists on stage to recreate Anne Frank's life filled with the touching music and lyrics written by Jean Pierre Hadida. This production marks the U.S Off-Broadway Premiere of this successful French musical which will be performed for the first time in English (adapted by Dylan Hadida). Directed and produced by David Serero, this new Off-Broadway production will take place at the Center for Jewish History (15 West 16th Street New York 10016), originally produced by Francine Disegni for Broadway Mad Production, Simon & Michal Kalfon.

Gloucester Stage Company continues its 40th Anniversary Season of professional theater with Patrick Barlow's witty mystery play The 39 Steps from July 5 through July 28 at Gloucester Stage Company, 267 East Main Street, Gloucester, MA. This award winning comic thriller adapted for the stage by Patrick Barlow, from the 1915 novel by John Buchan and from the 1935 movie by Alfred Hitchcock, premiered on Broadway in 2008. The 39 Steps has played in over forty countries world-wide, winning Olivier (United Kingdom); Helpmann (Austraila); Moliere (France) and Tony Awards. The play garnered the 2007 Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Comedy; the 2008 Tony Awards for Best Lighting Design and Best Sound Design; the 2008 Drama Desk Award for Unique Theatrical Experience; the 2009 Helpmann Award for Best Regional Touring Production; and the 2009 Moliere Award for Best Comedy.

The New Wolsey Theatre, Ipswich, has announced the cast for the new upcoming production of comedy ONE MAN, TWO GUVNORS, in association with Nuffield Southampton Theatres. Richard Bean's riotous farce, based on The Servant of Two Masters by Carlo Goldoni, is set in the colourful underworld of Brighton in the swinging sixties, combining all the elements of classic comedy into a fizzing cocktail of fun, with songs by Grant Olding.

Today, D23, the official Disney fan club, has announced the eleven recipients for the 2019 Disney Legends Award. National New Play Network, the country's alliance of nonprofit theaters that collaborate in innovative ways to develop, produce, and extend the life of new plays, announces the continuation of two Rolling World Premieres: Apple Season by E.M. Lewis, which opens in Iowa City at Riverside Theatre (running March 29-April 20, 2019), and Gabriel Jason Dean's Heartland at Philadelphia's InterAct Theatre Company (running March 29-April 21, 2019). 

Mystery takes the stage at Gulfshore Playhouse, Naples' premier professional regional theater, with its latest production "Holmes and Watson." Filled with frauds, fakes and charlatans all claiming to be the real Sherlock Holmes, Dr. John Watson is on a mission to solve the mystery of the "real Sherlock Holmes." Today, Carole Shorenstein Hays and Sonia Friedman Productions with Tom Kirdahy announced the additional casting for the West Coast Premiere of the Good Chance Theatre, National Theatre and Young Vic production of THE JUNGLE by Joe Murphy and Joe Robertson at San Francisco's Curran. Set in Europe's largest unofficial refugee camp in Calais, France, the Jungle became a temporary home for more than 10,000 people in 2015. Under the direction of Stephen Daldry and Justin Martin, the limited engagement begins Tuesday March 26, 2019 and will run through Sunday, May 19, 2019. Opening night is Thursday, April 4, 2019. Promethean Theatre Ensemble will close its 2018-19 season with the Midwest Premiere of MAD BEAT HIP & GONE, by Steven Dietz, author of LAST OF THE BOYS and PRIVATE EYES and over thirty other plays that have been produced by regional theatres across the country, internationally, and off-Broadway in New York. MAD BEAT HIP & GONE, which had its world premiere in Austin, Texas in 2013, follows two young Nebraska men who meet beat generation writer Jack Kerouac. Rejecting the established order of mid-1950s America, they follow Kerouac's example and hit the open road in search of truth. Do they find it? And what can we learn from their travels?

CBS All Access, CBS' digital subscription video on-demand and live streaming service, today announced Lucy Liu will star in the service's upcoming darkly comedic drama WHY WOMEN KILL. Created by Marc Cherry ('Desperate Housewives,' 'Devious Maids'), WHY WOMEN KILL details the lives of three women living in three different decades: a housewife in the '60s, a socialite in the '80s and a lawyer in 2018, each dealing with infidelity in their marriages.
