San Jose Playhouse's 2022 season opens on April 2 (with previews on March 31 and April 1) with the much celebrated LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, starring STEPHEN GUGGENHEIM and ALAN PALMER as Georges and Albin respectively. 

WE SPEAK PEACE features performing artists from Ukraine, Russia, Afghanistan, and New York City in a one night only event. Led by NYC playwright/poet Galinsky and gallerist/filmmaker Jay Bulger, the eclectic group of performers feel the need to speak out and share right now. 

Stagecrafters Youth Theatre will present their production of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night’s Dream from March 17–20, 2022 at the Baldwin Theatre in downtown Royal Oak. A Midsummer Night’s Dream at its heart the play is a love story, featuring mischievous fairies, two love-crossed couples, and a bungling acting troupe. When Oberon, king of the fairies, sends his impish helper Puck on a magical mission, mayhem reigns in the forest for one unforgettable night. One of the best-known plays by the bard, this story is fun for all!

Ice Theatre of New York will perform at the Winter Holiday Skating Celebration and Tree Lighting at the Ice Rink at Denny Farrell Riverbank State Park on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 4pm. The ITNY ensemble and apprentice performers will be joined by synchronized skaters from The Skyliners, members of the young women's empowerment group Figure Skating in Harlem, performers from the Riverbank Figure Skating Club, and the Sky Rink All Stars.

The sixth group of writers to take part in The PlayGround Experiment's exciting new workshop are Nadia Andrade, Maria Arreola, Sergio Garcia, Peter Pasco, Germôna Sharp, and Linett Luna Tovar. The workshop culminates on December 10th with a public presentation of excerpts from these writers' new works.

Veteran progressive activist and TV-film-stage producer Scott Robbe died on Sunday, November 21, 2021, according to a statement by Paul Algiers, a longtime friend and the executor of Scott Robbe's estate. Robbe was in hospice care at the home of his sister, Angela, in Hartford, Wisconsin.

Irish Repertory Theatre announced today casting and additional creative team members for The Streets of New York by Dion Boucicault, featuring adaptation, songs & direction by Charlotte Moore. The Streets of New York will begin previews on December 4, 2021, with an opening night scheduled for December 14 and a limited run through January 30, 2022.

Music Mountain Theatre in Lambertville continues its season with an all-new production of the musical ELF based on the 2003 film. ELF will begin performances on November 5th and play on weekends through November 21st.

Jon Bromwich has announced he will be retiring from his role as Executive Producer of British Youth Music Theatre in May 2022. Jon was instrumental in founding the leading musical theatre company (first known as Youth Music Theatre UK) for young people in 2003.

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater has announced the cast and creative team for Tony Award-nominated August Wilson’s Seven Guitars, directed by Tazewell Thompson (Arena’s Jubilee).

Segerstrom Center for the Arts announces the return of its popular tradition - American Ballet Theatre's captivating production of The Nutcracker.  Co-presented by the Center and ABT with choreography by ABT Artist in Residence Alexei Ratmansky, The Nutcracker is the beloved holiday story based on The Nutcracker and the King of Mice written by E.T.A.
