The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey continues its 56th season with its third Main Stage production, Blithe Spirit. Veteran company member Victoria Mack, who was last seen on the Main Stage in this season's Tartuffe, will make her STNJ directing debut. Company favorites Brent Harris, Tina Stafford, Ames Adamson, and Susan Maris will be joined by Kate MacCluggage of The 39 Steps fame in this delightful British comedy by Noel Coward. Performances begin August 15. Patrons can purchase tickets at The F.M. Barefoot in the Park will play July 28 - September 2, 2018 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Tickets start at $30.00 and are on sale to the general public now. Previews run July 28 - August 1. Opening night is Thursday, August 2 at 8:00 p.m.

A play with opera, Paper Canoe Projects and Cahoots Theatre partner with Native Earth Performing Arts for the world premiere production of I Call myself Princesswritten by Jani Lauzon. Opera Atelier's founding co-artistic directors Marshall Pynkoski and Jeannette Lajeunesse Zingg today announced a partnership with Mirvish Productions. The partnership builds on a history of collaboration between the two organizations, and will include reciprocal promotional support and a move by Opera Atelier to the Ed Mirvish Theatre in 2019. The previously announced production of Mozart's Idomeneo (Apr. 4 - 13, 2019), starring Canadian soprano Measha Brueggergosman in her Dora Award-winning performance as Elettra, will move to the Ed Mirvish Theatre (244 Victoria Street), as will the yet-to-be-revealed opening production of Opera Atelier's 2019-2020 season. The venue change offers Opera Atelier excellent acoustics, a much-needed larger stage, more ticket inventory, and access to Mirvish's marketing power.

National New Play Network, an alliance of professional theaters that collaborate in innovative ways to develop, produce, and extend the life of new plays, announces the opening of the second leg of its 80th Rolling World Premiere (RWP). Red Bike by Caridad Svich opens at Simpatico Theatre in Philadelphia on June 8 and runs through June 24. The Roll, which started at PYGmalion Productions (April 20-May 5 in Salt Lake City), will continue to Know Theatre of Cincinnati (January 11-February 2, 2019), and The Wilbury Theatre Group (April 11-21, 2019 in Providence). Red Bike was presented at NNPN's 2017 National Showcase of New Plays, hosted by Orlando Shakespeare Theatre.
