Earlier today, BroadwayWorld was saddened to report the passing of the legendary Carol Channing. Channing died at 12:31am on Tuesday, January 15th, 2019, at home in Rancho Mirage, CA of natural causes.

Know Theatre's 21st season jumps back into action in 2019 with the National New Play Network Rolling World Premiere of RED BIKE, a new play by Caridad Svich.

After his hit production of King Charles III, David Muse returns to Shakespeare Theatre Company to direct Shakespeare's Richard the Third, a mesmerizing chronicle of the megalomaniac's rampage to the throne. The production will play at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F Street NW) from February 5-March 10, 2019.

Daniel Schumann, Lee Dean and Cambridge Arts Theatre in association with Birmingham Repertory Theatre today announce an extension to the successful UK tour of Rebus: Long Shadows due to public demand. The production written exclusively for the stage by author of the original novels, Ian Rankin and playwright Rona Munro toured from September to November 2018, and in 2019 will tour to a further five cities - Glasgow from 29 January, then visiting Cardiff, Cambridge and Newcastle, before completing its run in Bath on 9 March.

Early Music Vancouver presents Bach Collegium Japan (BCJ) - Bach, Handel, Vivaldi on December 9, 2018 at 3pm at the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts at UBC. The Old Globe announces its inaugural New Voices in the Community series: free public performances at libraries across San Diego County, followed by conversations with the playwrights and experts in the community. The first New Voices in the Community features three solo shows by women: Hold These Truths by Jeanne Sakata, "A" Train by Anne Torsiglieri, and Unveiled: A One-Woman Play by Rohina Malik.

Mad Cow Theatre presents Rapture, Blister, Burn, the 2013 Pulitzer Prize finalist from House of Cards and Pulitzer nominated writer Gina Gionfriddo, for its Zehngebot-Stonerock Theatre season opener. Gionfriddo has received an Obie Award, the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize, the Helen Merrill Award for Emerging Playwrights and a Guggenheim Fellowship. With blazing wit, this new comedy takes a tantalizing look at family, career, romance and the decisions made that may define one's life. The New York Times calls Rapture, Blister, Burn "intensely smart and immensely funny," and has been called "a smart, funny, and lightning-paced look at feminism" by The New York Daily News. The show's run begins on Friday, October 26, 2018 and plays through Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Mad Cow Theatre in downtown Orlando.

The Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities will open the 2018 - 2019 Black Box season with Educating Rita, directed by Lynne Collins, today, October 5, 2018. Pioneer Theatre Company begins the sixth season of Play-by-Play's New Play Reading Series with Art & Class by Utah playwright, Matthew Ivan Bennett. The staged readings will take place at the Babcock Theatre on Friday, October 5 and Saturday, October 6, 2018.
