Yes, the Holiday Season is once again upon us. Time for merriment, gathering with friends, family, chosen family, and what have you to enjoy the sights, the sounds, and the food of the season. Amidst all of the hustle and bustle of the times, the Straz Center’s Carol Morsani Hall brings a different fable and tale of love, hope, and the courage to survive against all odds to its patrons following the close of Thanksgiving weekend, and ushering in the first week of December. Unlike Ghosts of both Past, and Present, patrons of the Straz Center are plunged head-first into a dark tale based on figures found in Greek Mythology, and the tale itself seems all too relevant and perfectly placed in our current climate. The Broadway Smash Hadestown takes the stage by storm and leaves no prisoners in its wake. I for one am thankful for this time, the time to sit in a sacred space and experience the undeniably beautiful event that is live theatre, and the Straz Center is the Gift that keeps on giving, not only during the holiday season but all year long. Their 2022/2023 Bank of America Broadway Season is one of the absolute best yet!

Uptown Players is proud to present the world premiere of A Very Sordid Wedding, based on Del Shores’ 2017 hit film of the same name. A Very Sordid Wedding will be the final installment of the postponed Uptown Players 2020 season, and performances will run September 24th through October 3rd at the Kalita Humphreys Theater.

Producer Mark Cortale's Broadway concert series, hosted and music directed by Sirius XM radio star Seth Rudetsky, will return to San Francisco for the 2020 season at the Herbst Theatre in the iconic San Francisco War Memorial & Performing Arts Center. The Luitingh Alexander Musical Theatre Academy (LAMTA) is a full-time tertiary Academy for the Performing Arts and is especially geared for training triple-threat performers for a career in the Arts. Duane Alexander and Anton Luitingh announced the Academy in April 2018 with the support and endorsement of Theatre Impresario, Pieter Toerien, who has been instrumental in the development of LAMTA. The brand new, sought after Academy is housed on the top floor of the beautiful Theatre on the Bay in Cape Town and boasts six stunning studios in the heart of Camps Bay. LAMTA opened its doors in January this year and has since enjoyed two hugely successful productions on the Theatre on the Bay stage with its first intake of 28 students.
