Kids of all ages can explore the underwater kingdom of Atlantis during the WST for Kids' production of Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID, JR. Based on and adapted from the Academy Award-winning 1989 Disney movie and Broadway production, this hour-long musical will appear on the Walnut Mainstage beginning September 21 and now extended through October 6, 2019.

San Francisco Playhouse announced casting for the Bay Area premiere of Groundhog Day the Musical, the hit Broadway comedy adapted from the timeless Bill Murray film. Danny Rubin, co-writer of the 1993 film, wrote the book, with music and lyrics supplied by Tony-winner Tim Minchin (Matilda). Susi Damilano will direct the Playhouse production, with music direction by Dave Dobrusky and choreography by Nicole Helfer.

Holiday cheer is in the air, which means Philadelphia families will celebrate the season once more with Charles Dickens' classic tale, A CHRISTMAS CAROL, live on stage. Walnut Street Theatre (WST) for Kids' favorite hour-long musical adaptation of Dickens' classic novel runs from November 30 through December 22. For the first time there will be a special evening performance of the show, offering families one more burst of holiday magic.

And just like all of us, I wondered how they are dealing with the abrupt end of productions in which they were involved. This Spotlight focuses on Monica Ricketts who discovered the magic of performing onstage as a child and never looked back or wanted to do anything else.

With the ongoing suspension of Broadway performances due to COVID-19 continuing until further notice, the Broadway League is updating information regarding performance cancellations and ticketing protocol. While a date to resume performances is yet to be determined, Broadway theatres are now offering refunds and exchanges for tickets purchased for performances through September 6, 2020.

Written by James Hindman, directed by Ellie Mooney, and starring Luke Bradt and Dan Olmstead, the production begins previews on February 25, opens March 5, and continues through March 29.

The Highland Park Players Theater for Young Audiences are tickled pink to bring Pinkalicious the Musical to Highland Park!  Performances are February 22, 23, 29, and March 1 at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm on all dates. Performances are at Sherwood Elementary School, 1900 Stratford Rd in Highland Park, IL. This special one-hour presentation is performed by adults and teens especially for kids (and parents) of all ages.  All performances are followed by an autograph session/meet and greet with the cast.

When their cook, Sister Julia, Child of God, accidentally serves some tainted soup, poisoning 52 of the sisters, the five surviving nuns must band together to raise funds for their burials. The score pulses with merriment and an unabashed desire to make you laugh, with songs and spontaneous comic interludes paced at breakneck speed.

But these are not ordinary masks. She's using fabric remnants from plays she designed for Main Street Theater (MST).
