KARAN CASEY, one of Ireland’s big singer-songwriters – and a leading advocate for gender balance in the Irish folk and traditional music scene – will make her first U.S. tour in three years from September 1-18, a slate of 13 performances that will highlight her recent work, including her album Hieroglyphs That Tell the Tale and unreleased material.

MCC Theater has announced the passing of performer and MCC Founding Co-Artistic Director Bob LuPone. LuPone passed this morning following a three-year battle with pancreatic cancer.

Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC) announced that Sonja Kostich has been appointed Executive Director of BAC, subject to Board approval. She will assume the role in mid-October 2022. Ms. Kostich succeeds Cora Cahan, who has served as the organization's President and CEO from October 2019.

Violinist and composer Halla Steinunn Stefánsdóttir has released a new digital album, strengur, on Carrier Records. strengur is a set of five groups of three pieces, each created in deep collaboration with a long-term creative partner: Halla Lovísa Loftsdóttir, Davíð Brynjar Franzson, Lương Huệ Trinh, Kent Olofsson, and Mirjam Tally.

Broadway veteran Maureen McGovern has revealed that she has been diagnosed with posterior cortical atrophy with symptoms of Alzheimer’s and/or Dementia. In a message on her official website, Maureen shared that she can no longer travel, perform in concerts, or even drive.

Jesse L. Martin is known for his Tony-winning role as Tom Collins on Broadway in Rent. He reprised his role in the 2005 feature film adaptation.
