The Human Race Theatre Names New Artistic Director

The Human Race Theatre Company Board of Trustees, the Artistic Director Search Committee and Executive Director, Kappy Kilburn, announces the appointment of Emily N. Wells as The Human Race’s next Artistic Director. The Search Committee, comprised of artists, community leaders, Board members and Human Race staff voted unanimously to appoint Wells after a thorough nationwide search that began last summer.

Having had to shut down the production of Bruce Norris' seminal play Clybourne Park at final dress rehearsal in March 2020, Trish Wadley Productions and David Adkin, in association with Park Theatre, have announced that the production, originally planned for the play's 10th anniversary year, will open at the venue in March.

On Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 2 PM, the Palace Theater will present Mister Wonderland, a film that explores the life of the great theatrical impresario Sylvester Z. Poli who built the Palace Theater in 1922. The documentary originally aired on PBS in 2021 and sets out to find what remains today of Poli's theaters and the communities they used to serve. Waterbury's Palace Theater is one of only two theaters left in Poli's empire.

Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board is has announced the full roster of events for their first ever Arts Montco Week. The festivities will highlight Montgomery County, Pennsylvania's over 200 arts and culture venues, which normally represent $100 million in positive economic impact, not to mention hundreds, if not thousands, of jobs. The county, which has hosted such prestigious international entertainment organizations like Cirque du Soleil, Big Apple Circus, and the Philadelphia Orchestra, will roll out the red carpet to visitors for Arts Montco Week, September 17-26, 2021.
