Last night, UK's The Last Dinner Party made their debut US television appearance, perfoming their hit song “Nothing Matters” on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. The performance follows the release of their new single “Caesar On A TV Screen”. The new single combines all the elements that have garnered them this early platform. Watch the video!

Drawing on everything from The Chemical Brothers and The Prodigy to Nine Inch Nails and The KLF, the band leans into the raw, primal sound at the intersection of techno, electronic, industrial, and rock music that informed their 2022 EP Touch The Ground (produced by Hot Chip's Joe Goddard and Al Doyle).  

The track, which arrives with a music video, features vocals from Jolie Holland. They are known for their jagged folk-pop melodies, infusing the cabaret traditions of Old World masters like Georges Brassens, Jacques Brel and Fabrizio De André with the Old Testament prophecy and Kabbalistic visions of Townes Van Zandt, Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan.

A NIGHT WITH JANIS JOPLIN makes its UK premiere at the Peacock Theatre, Sadlers Wells' home in the West End, on 20 August starring Mary Bridget Davies as Janis, running until 28 September 2024.
