The Pulitzer Prize Board has just announced that Fat Ham has won the 2022 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Other finalists included: Selling Kabul, and Kristina Wong, Sweatshop Overlord.

New York Stage and Film returns July 9-August 7 for five weeks of in-person programming in Poughkeepsie for their 2022 Summer Season.  For 38 years, NYSAF has operated as a vital incubator for artists and their work, a catalyst for stories that continue across the country and around the world.  All tickets are $25 and go on sale June 1.

Signature Theatre has extended the world premiere of Samuel D. Hunter’s A Case for the Existence of God, directed by David Cromer (Tony Award-winner, The Band’s Visit) to May 22. Kansas City Repertory Theatre completes its 2021-22 season with The Old Man and the Old Moon, book, music, and lyrics by PigPen Theatre Co., directed by Artistic Director Stuart Carden and PigPen Theatre Co. Performances run May 3 through 22, 2022, at Spencer Theatre.

TheaterWorks Hartford will present the East Coast premiere of Zoey’s Perfect Wedding by Tony-winner Matthew López, the first Latiné playwright to win the Tony Award for best play. Directed by Artistic Director Rob Ruggiero, the production marks López’s return to TheaterWorks Hartford following 2018's The Legend of Georgia McBride.

Theatre Communications Group has announced the recipients of the second round of the 2021-22 Edgerton Foundation New Play Awards. The awards, totaling $731,000, allow 16 productions extra time for the development and rehearsal of new plays with the entire creative team, hoping to extend the life of the world premiere play after its first run.

Nathan R. Matthews is producing and performing in a concert for The Riverside Opera Ensemble at Merkin Hall at the Kaufman Music Center on May 16th. Tony nominee Christiane Noll (Ragtime) and Grammy winner Edward Parks (The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs) will headline the concert of new music by Dreamworks composer Drew Fornarola and Matthews himself.

Playwrights Horizons today announced its 2022–2023 season. Brought together amidst the easing of a reality-altering pandemic —during which desire for a “return to normal” began to feel at once futile and shortsighted—the lineup consists of five works that consider and radically challenge the very idea of normalcy.

Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning musical Next To Normal will be adapted in a new, live immersive musical theater format, and will receive its worldwide premiere at the Festival Grec de Barcelona this July.

Originally premiering on Broadway in 2009, Next to Normal was nominated for 11 Tony Awards of which it won three, including for Best Original Score. It was also awarded the 2010 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, an award that only ten musicals have received in the 105-year history of The Pulitzer Prizes.

Single tickets for Westport Country Playhouse's 2022 Season, the historic theater's 91st year, will go on sale beginning Tuesday, March 1.

Next to Normal is set to be staged this month at Stagebrush Theatre. The production stars Broadway's Stephanie Likes (Les Misérables), and her son, Casey Likes, who recently starred in the new Pre-Broadway run of the newest work by Tom Kitt, Almost Famous the Musical. Stephanie and Casey, both Arizona Natives, play mother and son, Diana and Gabe. Next to Normal marks only the second time the mother-son duo will share the stage.

Westport Country Playhouse announces updates to its 2022 season playing from April through October, including a change in the production lineup, the addition of two new directors, and a shorter run for four of the five shows.

Chance Theater, Anaheim's official resident theater company, proudly presents the groundbreaking musical, “Next to Normal” as the first show in its 24th Anniversary Season. Produced alongside Project ALS, the video is a beautiful tribute to late Broadway star Rebecca Luker, who passed away from ALS. The video features never-before-seen footage of the Tony-nominated actress as well as videos of other women diagnosed with the disease.

“7 x Pecado - Broadway in Concert” is the show chosen for the reopening of Teatro Escola Basileu França in Goiânia. Sponsored by the Government of Goiás, is based on the Seven Deadly Sins and how they manifest themselves in contemporary life they punctuate the scene through the great Broadway hits.

Next to Normal the Pop/Rock, Tony Award, and Pulitzer Prize Winning Musical By Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey will find itself revived in an all new, star studded production this coming January at Stagebrush Theatre. The production stars Broadway's Les Miserables' Stephanie Likes joined by her son Casey Likes.
