As Holocaust Remembrance Day approaches, The Colburn School is proud to announce that it has received a prestigious Save America's Treasures grant to preserve and digitize the Herbert and Trudl Zipper Archive at Colburn. Herbert Zipper, for whom Colburn's Zipper Hall is named, was a pioneer of the community music movement and had a deep commitment that every student should be able to participate in the performing arts.

The Bronx Opera Company will open its 56th season with the landmark musical LADY IN THE DARK, music by Kurt Weill, lyrics by Ira Gershwin, and book by Moss Hart.  Performances will be on Saturday & Sunday, January 28 & 29 Saturday & Sunday, February 4 & 5.

Playful People Productions opens the new year with one of the classic American stage plays of all time, Our Town. Written by Thornton Wilder 85 years ago, Our Town is directed by Stacy Levin and performs at Historic Hoover Theatre in San Jose February 23 through 26.

With 2023 comes ACT’s 47th World Premiere play, History of Theatre: About, By, For, and Near, a boldly theatrical, thought-provoking exploration of the lives of those who’ve paved the way for the American theatre we have today.

FronteraFest, Austin's longest-running and most beloved performance festival will return in 2023 after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A unique collaboration between Hyde Park Theatre and ScriptWorks, FronteraFest is celebrating its 28th year, attracting actors, artists, poets, dancers, and performers of all types throughout Texas and beyond. 

Reservoir is pleased to share that De La Soul’s first six albums, 3 Feet High and Rising (1989), De La Soul Is Dead (1991), Buhloone Mindstate (1993), Stakes Is High (1996), Art Official Intelligence: Mosaic Thump (2000), and AOI: Bionix (2001), will be available to fans everywhere March 3, 2023, on the 34th anniversary of the release of their debut album

The centerpiece of SCR's 2022-23 season, 'Voices of America,' runs Jan. 28-Feb. 26 on the Segerstrom Stage. It encompasses both plays. Each play will take the stage four times a week, alternating performances. On Saturdays and Sundays, both plays will run-one in the afternoon, the other in the evening. That means theatregoers can see both in the same day. Tickets are available at scr.org.

Doris Dear s back teaming with BroadwayOnDemand to stream her annual holiday extravaganza, ‘The Doris Dear Christmas Special’ filmed LIVE at The Triad Theater in NYC! The streaming starts on December 23rd running until January 1st.

Rounding out the year-long celebration of the Festival of Arts of Laguna Beach 90th anniversary, the award-winning arts destination has announced its latest off-site exhibit: Selections from the Permanent Art Collection, is open for guests to experience and browse through January 13th, 2023.

Two iconic Philadelphia institutions are teaming up to provide public access to an extraordinary historical collection. The University of Pennsylvania Libraries has acquired the archives of The Philadelphia Orchestra and the Academy of Music in an agreement that will facilitate research and access to more than a century of Philadelphia's rich musical history.
