The Muny has selected the seven teams of directors, choreographers, music directors and lead designers whose creative visions will shape the Tony Award-winning theatre’s 2026 season in Forest Park.

Tanglewood has revealed the details of its 2026 season, opening in late June and continuing to Labor Day weekend. The schedule brings many of the world’s most exciting musicians to the beautiful Berkshire hills of western Massachusetts.

Seth MacFarlane was in great voice when he took the stage at Symphony Hall recently for his sold-out New Year’s Eve concert with the Boston Pops, even if it wasn’t his most familiar voice.

Why all of these limited runs? Shows with celebrities in them make sense, they have busy schedules, and setting aside 16 or 20 weeks to rehearse and perform in a Broadway show is a non-trivial juggling act. But increasingly there has been a trend of limited runs, even absent celebrity casting.

Continuing our Arkansas Families in the Arts series, we were thrilled to reconnect with Corbin and Grace Pitts. We first had the opportunity to get to know them just before the COVID-19 pandemic reshaped the world in 2020, making this long-awaited revisit especially meaningful.  

Co-produced by Independent Shakespeare Company and Coin & Ghost, THE AARON PLAY will engage theater-goers and Bard-hounds as well as those who embrace stories with ideas.

Personality: The Lloyd Price Musical in Concert, starring Cedric Neal as Lloyd Price, arrives at the Southbank Centre’s Queen Elizabeth Hall on 11 October. We had the chance to chat with Neal about what it is like to be taking on the role of the innovative artist, whose work was recorded by legends like Elvis Presley, Aretha Franklin and Paul McCartney. In 2013, we saw a performance of West Side Story at Calabasas High School and took note of the young actor Landen Starkman, who was playing the part of A-Rab. Three months later, we saw him again in a summer theater production of Seussical and this time, he delivered a remarkably nuanced performance as Horton the Elephant, singing a heartfelt version of the song 'Alone in the Universe.'
