Masae Ebata: Playing Elphaba in the Osaka run of Shiki Theatre Company’s musical 'Wicked' (Click here to read Review: 'Wicked' - THE MAGIC RETURNS TO OSAKA by SHIKI THEATRE COMPANY-). Masae joined Shiki Theatre Company in 2005 after passing the audition. She made her stage debut in 'The Lion King,' later performing as Nala in both the Japan and Korea productions. Her major roles include Elphaba in 'Wicked', Donna Sheridan in 'Mamma Mia!,' Aida in 'Aida,' and Grizabella in 'CATS.' 'Wicked' reimagines the classic 'The Wizard of Oz' from the perspectives of two witches, Elphaba and Glinda. The musical is a grand spectacle, featuring Grammy-winning music and magnificent stage designs, continuing to captivate fans of all ages.

We had the opportunity to chat with Gavin Lee, who returns to the role of Monsieur Thénardier after playing him on Broadway from March 2015 to May 2016 in the most recent revival. We discussed how Lee first got into the world of theatre and what it has been like to return to the role of Thénardier nearly a decade later!

Albion Theatre has announced their 2025 season. Their upcoming season will include plays by Martin Mc Donagh, Laura Wade, and J.B. Priestley.  The season opens with McDonagh’s THE BEAUTY QUEEN OF LEENANE from March 14 – 30, 2025. It continues with a production of Wade’s COLDER THAN HERE from June 13 – 29, 2025. The season closes with Priestley’s I HAVE BEEN HERE BEFORE, running October 17 – November 2, 2024. All of Albion’s plays are staged at the Kranzberg Arts Center Black Box Theater, 501 N. Bay Area-based contemporary music group Ensemble for These Times has announced its 17th Home Season entitled 'Women in Transit,' the first in a two-year exploration of the transformational effects of women's border-crossing and liminality in 'our times.'

The Dorothy and Charles Mosesian Center for the Arts will welcome Actors' Shakespeare Project as the new company-in-residence at their facilities in Watertown.
