Stars on stage in New York are shining bright as we continually celebrate the experience of live theater. As new shows prepare to head to the great bright way, let’s see which famous Broadway stars, celebrities from film and TV, and more you can see in upcoming shows!

The SHU Community Theatre presents a month of film programming in January. Films run at SHU Community Theatre, 1420 Post Road, Fairfield.

This week, the musical Dreamgirls is celebrating its 40th anniversary! To celebrate, the show's Tony-winning original star, Jennifer Holliday, stopped by Twitter to sing from the show's finale to help fans process the changes the pandemic has brought and to help them dream of a brighter future.

Billy Porter has revealed his official music video for “Children”. The visual is Porter's first video with his new team at the Island/Republic record label. “Children” is a high-energy dance floor anthem co-written with GRAMMY® Award-nominated songwriter MNEK [H.E.R., Dua Lipa] and Little Mix’s Jade Thirlwall.

The Majestic Theatre will dim its lights tonight, December 6, in memory of longtime The Phantom of the Opera production stage manager Craig Jacobs, who passed away November 22. Jacobs worked for The Phantom of the Opera from 1997 through 2014.

Tonight, NBC will air its sixth live musical production. Following in the footsteps of The Sound of Music, Peter Pan, The Wiz, Hairspray, and Jesus Christ Superstar, the peacock network will be presenting Annie. Based on Harold Gray's comic strip titled Little Orphan Annie, this musical tells the story of a little orphan with equal measures of pluck and positivity who charms everyone's hearts, despite a next-to-nothing start in New York City in the year 1933.

Stockard Channing and Rebecca Night will perform in the Pulitzer Prize-winning 'night, Mother by Marsha Norman.  This astonishing play, which had its UK premiere at Hampstead Theatre in 1985, will be directed by the theatre's Artistic Director, Roxana Silbert.  'night, Mother will run from 22 October until 4 December 2021.
