The Appell Center for the Performing Arts will soon present the Strand Theatre’s Centennial Celebration: An Evening with Sutton Foster & Kelli O’Hara with the York Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Lawrence Golan. It took over forty years after the film was released to be made into a Broadway musical. It made its debut at the Winter Garden Theatre in 1980 and won the 1981 Tony Award for Best Musical.
