Reading Rep Theatre today announces the world première of Helen Eastman's The Nutcracker, a brand-new musical adaption of the classic tale for all the family. The production opens at Reading Studio from 20 December, with previews from 17 December, and runs until 23 December 2019.

Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for theatre, is pleased to announce the recipients of The Willa Kim Costume Design Scholarship 2019. The Broadway community mourns the loss of prolific producer, director, writer, and the individual recipient of the most Tony Awards in multiple categories in history, Harold Prince, who passed away on July 31, 2019 at age 91. To commemorate his life and work, the Committee of Theatre Owners will dim the lights of Broadway theatres in New York for one minute on Wednesday, July 31 at exactly 7:45pm.

Last year, in 2018, the third annual Dancers For Good Benefit supporting the Actors Fund Dancers Resource in East Hampton was so impressive that I challenged the founders to 'high-kick it up a notch even higher next year'. I'm thrilled to announce that not only did they clearly accept that challenge, they superseded all expectations!

Broken into two acts with a 15 minute intermission in between, in the first hour, to open each song, the singer told a story of what it meant to them. What I loved about actors who are also singers, rather than someone who was strictly a singer, was you are transported into the story. Whether it's a slump of the shoulder, a hand raised, a facial expression, the use of the stool, or any number of creative storytelling devices, these 11 allowed us to have an experience, not just hear a song. The snippets of the introduction made the song that followed feel all the more personal. In the second act dedicated to inspiration works, the dialogue receded, and the moving songs took center stage.

Ahead of the release of their debut album Days You Were Leaving (Bar None Records) Rose Dorn have dropped a new single entitled “Champ.” The track debuted via FLOOD Magazine and the band's Scarlet Knight told them “'Champ' is about my time in high school and trying to figure out who I was. The lyric 'All my friends are in my hand the computer that I continue to hold on' is specifically about the time when Joey, Jamie and I were becoming close friends. I'd walk around school texting them all day, head fully in my phone.

The Carpenters transformed music in the 1970s and '80s as one of the biggest-selling American acts, and their legacy lives on. The Carpenter's Tribute Concert, recreating the 1976 United Kingdom tour, will be performed in Las Vegas for one night at the Starbright Theatre on Aug. 10.
