Wayne Bryan reluctantly leaves his role as Man in Chair in MTWichita's season finale, The Drowsy Chaperone due to medical reasons. Replacing him for the show will be John Scherer.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre announced the full cast and creative team for the world premiere musical, Goddess. The musical stage production is conceived and directed by Saheem Ali, music and lyrics by Michael Thurber, and written by Jocelyn Bioh. Previews begin Saturday, August 13, and the show runs through Sunday, September 25.

William Shakespeare's joyous and popular comedy Much Ado About Nothing will open at Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival, the professional theatre on the campus of DeSales University. The show previews July 13 and 14, opens July 15, and runs through August 7 in the Schubert Theatre at the Labuda Center for the Performing Arts.

Contrary to what some may believe, not all historical-themed productions are old Broadway musicals. Several historical musicals have gone on to become classics, though this is not specifically a golden age musicals list.
