I was recently reminded that this time eight years ago I was opening one of my favorite holiday experiences: Elf: The Musical at The 5th Avenue Theatre.

CHAPLIN, the musical based on the life of silent film star Charlie Chaplin, is getting an update! Creators Christopher Curtis and Thomas Meehan reworked Chaplin as it toured seven countries around the world starting in 2015 before Meehan's passing in 2017.

Walnut Street Theatre (WST) continues its 211th season with Gore Vidal's thrilling political drama, THE BEST MAN. Directed by Broadway veteran Michael Wilson, the production begins previews on March 10, opens March 18, and continues through April 26 on the Walnut's Mainstage.

Mercury Theater Chicago announced today the cast and crew of the spectacular musical comedy PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT, running in the Venus Cabaret Theater from March 20 through June 28.

Jay McGuiness, Kimberley Walsh and Daniel Casey will star as Sam, Annie and Walter respectively in SLEEPLESS, A Musical Romance, based on the original screenplay Sleepless in Seattle. They are joined by Harriet Thorpe as Eleanor, Tania Mathurin as Becky and Jake Sharp as Rob. SLEEPLESS will premiere in London on 1 April 2020 at the newly opened Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre, London, with previews from 24 March.

ELF - THE MUSICAL is the best-selling show in the 105-year history of Civic Theatre.

The Muny announced today the directors, choreographers and music directors for its 2020 season, which opens June 15 with Kander and Ebb's internationally-acclaimed Chicago. Among the talented list are a mix of Muny favorites and newcomers. In addition to casting, a comprehensive list of design teams for each production will be released later this spring. Derby Dinner Playhouse has earned a reputation in the Kentuckiana area for putting on excellent productions that audiences really enjoy, and their production of Elf: The Musical certainly reinforces this reputation. Elf is based on the 2003 film featuring Will Ferrell as Buddy the Elf. The musical ran on Broadway during the holidays in 2010, and, once again, in 2012, and broke box office records at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre.

Imagination Stage has revived their Helen Hayes Award-winning 2012 production of 'The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe' for the 2019 holiday season. With stunning sets and engaging musical elements, it's not hard to see why this production is a local favorite. The show takes a well-known tale and retells with the fun creativity of a children's production, but with the sensibilities that play to adults' nostalgia.

Elf is a musical based on the 2003 motion picture of the same name.

What happens when you take a traditional Holiday tale and turn it on its head? That's what Kids For Kids Productions Inc. intends to show audiences on December 6th and December 7th at 7:00PM with 'The Holiday Spirit'.

Everything from Matteo Lane giving us very Mariah Christmas (Dec 17) to Isaac Oliver (writer on GLOW & High Maintenance) as your Valentine (Feb 13) to the debut of a very special project by Gloria Reuben (Mar 31) will hit the stage at Joe's Pub in the coming weeks!

Holiday cheer is in the air, which means Philadelphia families will celebrate the season once more with Charles Dickens' classic tale, A CHRISTMAS CAROL, live on stage. Walnut Street Theatre (WST) for Kids' favorite hour-long musical adaptation of Dickens' classic novel runs from November 30 through December 22. For the first time there will be a special evening performance of the show, offering families one more burst of holiday magic.
