Acclaimed indie label Frenchkiss Records is celebrating their 20th anniversary with a party on October 12 at Elsewhere in Brooklyn, NY. Today they announce that Drowners, playing their first show in 3 years, are added to the bill as are newcomers Twen and The Hold Steady's Tad Kubler. As previously announced, the party will also feature sets from The Dodos (who will be playing Visiter in its entirety and at additional dates listed below), Eleanor Friedberger, Diet Cig, Les Savy Fav and special guests. As part of the celebration, the label will be taking over Elsewhere's art space curating it with art from the label's roster. 

The Royal Shakespeare Company has announced that singer-songwriter Will Gregory will compose the music for a new production of William Shakespeare's rarely performed tale of a nation in turmoil, King John, directed by Eleanor Rhode.

The Huntington Theatre Company's annual Summer Workshop began rehearsals July 9 and will conclude in public readings of four new plays on July 20 and 21, 2019. The workshop allows selected members of the Huntington Playwriting Fellows program two weeks to focus on developing new plays. The workshop and public readings will take place in the South End at the Huntington's Stanford Calderwood Pavilion at the Boston Center for the Arts, 527 Tremont Street, Boston. 

On September 21 and 22, Ivy Baldwin Dance will present Quarry, a site-specific performance work at Manitoga, the former home and 75-acre woodland garden of the late American industrial designer Russel Wright. Quarry takes inspiration from Wright's desire to blur lines between outside and inside, nature and the man-made, and from his deep commitment to experimentation with form and material.
