Library of Congress Festival of Film And Sound Announces Full Lineup of Rare Cinema and Special Guests

The Library of Congress National Audio-Visual Conservation Center is announcing the full lineup of rare cinema and special guests to be featured at the inaugural Library of Congress Festival of Film and Sound. The new four-day film festival will be held June 15-18 in association with the AFI Silver Theatre and Cultural Center at the American Film Institute's beautifully restored 1938 art deco theater in Silver Spring, Maryland.

International City Theatre Presents INTO THE BREECHES!

“We Can Do It!” So said Rosie the Riveter, and so say the women of Long Beach in Into the Breeches!, the vibrant new comedy by George Brant that’s up next at International City Theatre. Directed by Brian Shnipper, performances take place June 9 through June 25 at ICT’s home in the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center. Two low-priced previews are set for June 7 and June 8.

ODC/Dance Announces Program For Annual SUMMER SAMPLER, July 20 - 22

ODC/Dance has announced the program for its annual SUMMER SAMPLER. Highlights include world premieres by guest choreographers Sonya Delwaide and Dexandro Montalvo plus revivals of signature works by Brenda Way and Kimi Okada. Summer Sampler takes place at ODC Theater July 20 - 22, Thursday - Saturday, at 7:30 p.m. each night. Tickets, starting at $25, are now on sale at odc.dance/summersampler.

In addition to her “Wonderland”—a song conceived of at the Alice in Wonderland statue in New York’s Central Park and co-written with Sprague— she ends the EP with her rendition of Jeff Lynne’s “Mr. Blue Sky,” from Electric Light Orchestra’s 1977 album Out of the Blue. (The music video for “Wonderland” will be released with the album in April).

The Diary of Anne Frank is one of the 21st Century's most famous and haunting stories. In July 1942, when Anne was 13 years old, the Frank family went into hiding  as Nazis swept through the Netherlands systematically deporting Jews to concentration camps and killing centers in the east. For nearly two years, Anne, her father, mother, and sister, and the Van Daan family hid in a secret space above her father's former office in Amsterdam.
