Based on the 1957 television production

There’s more to this classic tale than sewing mice and magical pumpkins. Ballet Memphis will reprise Steven McMahon’s interpretation of the Charles Perrault fairy tale as the season’s last mainstage show. The company debuted the work–featuring the famous score by Sergei Prokofiev as well as sets from the London City Ballet –during the 2008-09 season.

Everyone has a memory of the first musical they were in or saw. For me, it was either 'Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella,' if i remember correctly, at a local high school. For others, their first memories with musical theatre come through local productions of 'Guys and Dolls.' Des Moines Playhouse is opening its 104th season with a bright and colorful production of 'Guys and Dolls' that brings a new take for those who already have memories of the show while introducing it to a new generation of people to the show for the first time.

Christine Stoddard's play 'My Favorite Sex Toy' returns to the Broadway Comedy Club on October 2nd. The play will also run at the Greenwich Village Comedy Club, where it was set to premiere last April, on October 3rd. The play will once again star Amanda Andrews and Jess Appel, but this time under the direction of Fiamma Piacentini.
