Burlesque The Musical

The Monday, August 17th at 7:30pm performance of Burlesque the Musical has been cancelled due to illness in the cast. Sunderland Empire released a statement to their social media.

The UK tour of Burlesque the Musical has postponed its opening for a third time, with the venue and producers stating technical difficulties for the reason of delay.

Burlesque the Musical postponed its London production, and delayed the opening of its UK tour, announcing that the touring production would now launch in Sunderland on August 6, instead of the previously announced opening engagement in Woking. BroadwayWorld has learned that tickets are no longer available to purchase for August 6-12, delaying the start of performances by another week.

Since this news broke, Bectu (the union that respresents 40,000 staff, contract and freelance workers in the entertainment industry) head Phillippa Childs has shared a statement.

Natalia Jacques, Gracie O'Brien, and Cecilia Petrush will share the role of Ali Rose in BURLESQUE THE MUSICAL, with Jacques leading the West End run, O'Brien heading the UK tour, and Petrush serving as alternate.

Burlesque the Musical, based on the iconic Golden Globe Best Picture nominated film starring Christina Aguilera and Cher, written and directed by Steven Antin, will return to the West End this summer.
