Following its successful debut in 2018, the UConn Coaches Road Show will return in 2019, making its fourth stop at the Warner Theatre's Nancy Marine Studio Theatre on Wednesday, May 22 at 6 pm. The event will feature various UConn Athletics head coaches including Randy Edsall, Dan Hurley and Geno Auriemma and other athletic administrators. The Torrington Symphony Orchestra will present New Musical Artists, on Saturday, May 11 at 7:30 pm in the Warner's Nancy Marine Studio Theatre. Under the direction of conductor Maurice Steinberg, the orchestra will perform overtures, arias and light classics and feature soprano Benedetta Cordaro, tenor Erick Sanchez and composer Dale Osterman.

The Hubbell Difference Foundation will present An Evening to Promote the Science of Reading, at the Warner's Studio Theatre on Friday, May 10, 2019. The evening includes a film screening of Dislecksia:The Movie followed by an expert panel discussion comprised of reading and learning experts, headlined by Dr. Margie Gillis, President and CEO of Literacy How and moderated by Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Harvey Hubbell V (Dislecksia:The Movie). Doors will open at 6 pm, followed by a poem reading by Jake Sussman at 6:30 pm, the film screening at 6:35 pm and the panel beginning at 8 pm.

The Warner Theatre's 21st Annual Gala will be held on Saturday, May 18th at 5:30 pm in the Carole and Ray Neag Performing Arts Center. Steve Katz, founding member of legendary bands Blood, Sweat & Tears and The Blues Project will be at the Warner's Studio Theatre on Friday, April 26 at 8 pm for an evening of stories and songs. National recording artists Lucinda and Michael will open the show! Steve, a guitarist, songwriter and record producer, was also an original member of Even Dozen Jug Band and American Flyer. As a producer and musician, his credits include albums by the Irish band Horslips, Lou Reed and Elliott Murphy. Katz studied guitar with Dave Van Ronk and Rev. Gary Davis. Between 1963 and 1980, he knew and was friends with seemingly everyone in rock 'n' roll and appeared on iconic stages at the Monterey Pop Festival, Newport Folk Festival, Woodstock, the Hollywood Bowl, Carnegie Hall and the Ed Sullivan Show. He dined with Brian Epstein, partied with Groucho Marx, jammed with Mose Allison, worked with the Beatles' George Martin, shared a bag of potato chips with Jimi Hendrix and was told to get a haircut by Mickey Spillane. He was a producer of hit albums (for Lou Reed), a record company executive (Mercury, Green Linnet) and songwriter ('Sometime in Winter,' 'Steve's Song ).

This Spring marks the start of the 36th season of the Verdi Chorus, who will present their Spring Concert, L'Amore e la Vita (Love and Life) for two performances only at the First United Methodist Church in Santa Monica on April 6 and 7. Led by Founding Artistic Director Anne Marie Ketchum, the Verdi Chorus is the only choral group in Southern California that focuses primarily on the dramatic and diverse music for opera chorus. This program, which Ketchum humorously calls the Rom-Com of opera, will feature selections from two Verdi operas I vespri siciliani and Ernani, three Donizetti operas - Don Pasquale, La fille du r giment and L'elisir d'amore, as well as operatic sequences from Bizet's Les p cheurs de perles (The Pearl Fishers), Delibes' Lakm , and Puccini's La rondine.
