This week I saw a Broadway farce, an Off-Broadway history play and an Off-Off Broadway adaptation all written and directed by women.

Goodman Theatre announced casting for Life After by rising star writer/lyricist/composer Britta Johnson, directed by Annie Tippe. Leading the cast of nine is Samantha Williams as teenaged Alice—a young woman who, in search of facts, uncovers a more complicated truth as she pieces together events of the fateful night that changed her family forever.

Billie Eilish revealed on social media that she will appear alongside “The Simpsons” family in the upcoming short titled “When Billie Met Lisa.” The all-new short, featuring OSCAR® and GRAMMY® Award-winning artists Billie Eilish and FINNEAS. The Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts announced that the North American tour of Lincoln Center Theater’s critically acclaimed production of Lerner & Loewe’s MY FAIR LADY is coming as a part of its 2021/2022 Kravis On Broadway season.  Directed by Bartlett Sher, the North American tour will play the Kravis Center from April 19 – 24.

The Los Angeles Philharmonic’s Noon to Midnight: A Day of New Music will return Saturday, April 9 at Walt Disney Concert Hall, offering audiences LA’s most far-sighted ensembles in performances on the stage and in BP Hall of the iconic venue, anchored by an evening Green Umbrella concert focusing on composer Louis Andriessen.
