Written by Alec Silberblatt and directed by Daniella Caggiano, The Angel of Allegheny County is truly a theatrical work of art that is a mix of so many significant elements. It is an intricate play that compels audiences to not only think about what is right and wrong, but also the human capability to create the grey matter in between. Each character understands her place in the world and the limits that status sets, but each nonetheless finds the loophole that gives them more power over something not meant to be in her control.

It is not easy to interpret what the deeper hidden meaning behind 'Lazarus.' On one hand it feels very much like a theatrical extravaganza, a piece that unfolds in dream logic composed of a series of tableaux of life's many questions, like existentiality, sex, love and death. While other may, understandably, view it as overly pretentious and, minus Bowie's music, not easily accessible.

It wasn't exactly a stellar weekend for Donald Trump. This highly anticipated new play from 84-year-old Alan Bennett premieres at the Bridge, continuing his long-standing relationship with Nicholas Hytner. It's an exciting get, and there are wonderful flashes of Bennett wit, wisdom and stirring empathy, but also polemical outbursts and baggy plotting that leads to a ponderous and not entirely justified run time.
