One of the exciting parts of the year is when theatres start announcing their new seasons. It's such a thrill finding out which shows will be included, and if you ever get to attend an announcement party, you can feel the room fill with excitement. Iowa Stage announced its 2026 season at the end of 2025. While I wasn't able to attend the announcement party, I was still full of excitement as I anticipated the shows they would include in their season.

California Symphony, led by Artistic and Music Director Donato Cabrera and Executive Director Lisa Dell, has unveiled its 2026-2027 season, celebrating 40 years of bringing orchestral music to the Bay Area.

The Philadelphia Orchestra and Music and Artistic Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin have unveiled the 2026–27 season—Nézet-Séguin’s 15th as music and artistic director—full of epic musical events, bold artistic experiences, and new musical journeys.

October 1936, Oswald Mosley and the British Union of Fascists march on East London. When they reach Cable Street, a stone’s throw from Whitechapel, they find that its people have gathered in a united front against fascism. British, Irish, Jewish, and communists are blocking the road, ready to fight. Written by Tim Gilvin and Alex Kanefsky, Cable Street couldn’t be more timely. After two successful runs at Southwark Playhouse, the musical returns to remind us that there’s strength in unity. As ICE murders innocent citizens who stand up to injustice across the pond and Union Flags keep going up on our home turf, this is the comeback we need. This is a high-energy, anti-fascist history lesson.

Country music icon and multi-media entertainment mogul Reba McEntire will, for the first time, host this year’s “Christmas in Rockefeller Center” on NBC. The annual two-hour telecast will air live Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC and simulcast on Peacock.

The Bergen County Players has announced its 2025/26 season with an ambitious, joyous, and playful year of audience-pleasing musicals and innovative plays for its 93rd season.

Some of the shows that the Orpheum has been best known for are Stomp, which ran there for an astounding 29 years, from 1994 to 2023, and the original production of Little Shop of Horrors which spent over five years at the theater from 1982 to 1987. 

This year, for the second time in a row, Emmy and Grammy Award winner Kelly Clarkson will host the annual two-hour Christmas in Rockefeller Center tree-lighting special. The live special will air Wednesday, Dec. 4 at 8 p.m. ET – 10 p.m. ET/PT on NBC and simulcast on Peacock

Acclaimed theater company A Noise Within has announced six-plays for 2024-25 — a family-friendly modern classic; a play from August Wilson's “American Century Cycle”; a holiday show; a Shakespeare; a new adaptation; and a musical — each of which exhibits “True Grit.”

The Charleston Symphony has announced their complete 2023-24 season, featuring eight Masterworks Series and four Pops concerts.
