The Tony award-winning musical KINKY BOOTS hits the Live Arts stage in the new year, with music and lyrics by Cyndi Lauper and book by Harvey Fierstein, followed by the Virginia premiere of the powerful two-hander FIREFLIES by Donja R. Love. The Expectations Season closes with the return of the Live Arts WATERWORKS festival, a month-long celebration of new theatrical works that brought in more than 600 submissions and engaged hundreds of volunteers during its inaugural year.

The Ivoryton Playhouse's 2022 Ivoryton Women Playwrights Festival will be taking place on October 29th at 2pm. Over 200 plays from all over the country were submitted to the initiative and the four finalists will be traveling to Ivoryton from New York, California, Georgia and Virginia to have their work presented in a series of staged readings.

This month, Seattle Rep is bringing an assortment of opportunities to the public, including the final performances of its season opening production, Where We Belong, and subsequent special events including a Lushootseed Language Event on October 3 and Teen Night on October 9.
