This summer, Carnegie Hall's national youth jazz orchestra NYO Jazz—returns for its second year after a triumphant Carnegie Hall debut and inaugural international tour in 2018. The critically-acclaimed ensemble features 23 outstanding young American jazz musicians (ages 16-19) selected from across the United States who will come together for an extraordinary summer of music making, performing at Carnegie Hall in New York City (Saturday, July 27), culminating with the group's first-ever tour to Asia from July 29-August 9.

Following the Mystic Valley Band's recent reunion shows and a cover of his 2013 song “Dominos” on the critically acclaimed Better Oblivion Community Center album (which was the only one non-original OberstBridgers composition), Taylor Hollingsworth's (Conor Oberst & the Mystic Valley Band, Dead Fingers, The Dexateens) new LP Tap Dancin' Daddy is out August 2, 2019 on Flower Moon Records (the LA based label founded by Maria Taylor of Azure Ray). Today Paste premiered 'Devil N Me' the first single to be lifted from the forthcoming release. About the song Paste says, “'Devil N Me' is thematic kin to Florence + The Machine's 'Shake It Off' but shares sound qualities with the latest from Gary Clark Jr.—that's to say, it's pure, hot blues. There's that sludgy guitar, smug harmonica and even what sounds like a washboard breakdown, but there's also weird pedal effects and a synthetic organ. Hollingsworth sings the blues in his gritty, old-school alto, repeating 'I've got the devil in me' until it sounds like he's finally expunged the evil from his insides.'

Love stories twisted by rage, passion soured by obsession, and joy ravaged by paranoia – Investigation Discovery's (ID) new series 'TIL DEATH DO US PART follows lovers as they embark on relationships that end with a destiny no one expected. The new series shows that murder, like true love, is written in the stars. From a suspicious carbon monoxide incident, to a parrot who became an eyewitness to murder, each hour-long episode tells a tragic tale of love turned lethal. Premiering Tuesday, July 9 at 109c on ID, the new series features all-new stories of love gone wrong, including a loving wife turned wiccan, a spouse with a spiraling gambling addiction, and a motorcycle accident that is not what it seems.  Illustrated through split-screen archive and originally-shot material, including interviews with family, friends, law enforcement and the potential victim of the crime, 'TIL DEATH DO US PART unveils the breaking point in each of these relationships when love and murder collide.

This summer Goodspeed Musicals will produce the heartwarming new musical Because of Winn Dixie. This touching tale based on the award-winning novel by Kate DiCamillo will run June 28 - September 1 at The Goodspeed in East Haddam, Conn.

The heavily anticipated 10th anniversary special engagement of Storm Large's autobiographical, one-woman rock musical Crazy Enough opens June 25 on the U.S. Bank Main Stage. Crazy Enough broke records at The Armory in 2009 with a sold-out, 21-week run. Beginning with stories of a childhood complicated by her mother's schizophrenia, Large takes us through the ups and downs of the years that follow - sex, drugs, running away to California, and the saving grace of rock 'n' roll.  Crazy Enough features original songs by Large and James Beaton, including the hilarious and incredibly catchy "My Vagina is Eight Miles Wide." Original music director Beaton returns to the production. Crazy Enough will open on Large's 50th birthday.

Academy Award, Golden Globe and Grammy winning composer Gabriel Yared is going to be Tom Needham's exclusive guest this Thursday at 6 pm on WUSB's THE SOUNDS OF FILM. Gabriel is most well-known for his scores for 'The English Patient,' 'Cold Mountain,' 'The Talented Mr. Ripley' and 'The Lives of Others.' Later this year, Gabriel Yared is going to be receiving the distinguished Max Steiner Award in the City of Music, Vienna.

Samuel Hodges directs Lizzie Hopley as Margaret Thatcher and Bobo MacDonald, Paul Kemp as all other Prime Ministers, Sharon Singh as The Equerry and Fay Burwell and Maddie Farmer share the role of Young Elizabeth, joining the previously announced Faye Castelow as Queen Elizabeth II. The production opens on 30 May, with previews from 24 May, and runs until 22 June.
