Each time I review theatre written and performed in another language, my disadvantage forces me to think differently about what I'm seeing. I kind of enjoy the challenge but there is undeniable risk that I will not fully comprehend some of the detail and nuance carried in the language.

Marin Shakespeare's SPAMALOT is an altogether delightful and uproariously zany production that has their audiences laughing almost non-stop throughout the show. Playing its final week now through August 25, SPAMALOT is a not-to-be-missed, hugely enjoyable show.

Kick up your heels and put on your dancing shoes on September 21 for National Dance Day! Presented in partnership between the Kennedy Center, American Dance Movement (formally the Dizzy Feet Foundation), and Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC), this annual event invites everyone of all ages and abilities, from the littlest dancers to professionals, to participate in a free day-long celebration of the joy of dance and movement.

The Tony Award-Winner for Best Musical, Monty Python's Spamalot, opens TheaterWorks' 34th season on Friday, September 6, 2019 at the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts. This hilarious musical is lovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy Monty Python and the Holy Grail where audiences join King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table on their quest to find the Holy Grail featuring a bevy of beautiful show girls, not to mention cows, killer rabbits, and French people. Outcry Youth Theatre's epic telling of this brand-new adaptation of the Arthurian legend brings new life and meaning to the classic tale. The show ambitiously spans the entire life of Arthur, from a boy of eleven to an aging king, and features many unforgettable characters, from Guinevere and Lancelot to Morgan le Fay and Merlin. This incredible story has it all: action and adventure, love and romance, myth and magic. From the sword in the stone to the Knights of the Round Table, the treasured stories are there but presented with a modern twist that forgoes the pretense of olde English language or the confines of a sequentially delivered narrative. Outcry Theatre artistic director Becca Johnson-Spinos directs a cast of 39 youth actors at the Addison Theatre Centre's Studio Theatre.

Woburn Golf Club in England sets the stage this week for golf's final major championship of 2019, The R&A's AIG Women's British Open, taking place Thursday-Sunday, Aug. 1-4. The second of back-to-back major championships on the LPGA Tour, the AIG Women's British Open will feature 45 total hours of tournament coverage on GOLF Channel and NBC, the most number of televised hours for an LPGA major championship in history.

NBC Sports' 2019 NFL preseason coverage kicks off this Thursday, Aug. 1, when the Atlanta Falcons face the Denver Broncos in the 2019 Pro Football Hall of Fame Game from Canton, Ohio, at 8 p.m. ET on NBC. Denver's Vic Fangio makes his head coaching debut after 32 years as NFL assistant, including spending the past four seasons as Chicago's defensive coordinator, and Broncos rookie QB Drew Lock, a second-round draft pick, is expected to make his NFL preseason debut.

Cygnet's 2019 Summer Benefit promises to be legendary. For two nights only, the beloved Lerner and Loewe's musical Camelot comes to Cygnet Theatre for a staged concert reading. Proceeds benefit Cygnet Theatre's Artist Advocate program, which provides the financial support needed to hire the most talented artists and to pay them a meaningful wage. With book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner, music by Frederick Loewe, direction by Sean Murray and musical direction by Terry O'Donnell, the benefit takes place August 12 and 13.

Did we mention the bevy of beautiful show girls? The 2005 Broadway production won three Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and was followed by two successful West End runs. Performances are July 12th thru the 21st, 2019 and will be held at the Wigwam Theater (10190 Blacklick-Eastern Road Northwest, Pickerington, OH 43147) with showtimes at 8:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays and 2:00 PM on Sundays, July 12-21, 2019. The Weston Playhouse Theatre Company will host its annual Weston Gala fundraiser on July 27, 2019, starting at 6:00 pm. This not-to-be-missed event will be in the company's new theatre at Walker Farm and themed around the company's summer production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's OKLAHOMA!
