Showcasing some fabulous community talent, Lane Cove Theatre Company’s presentation of the musical take on Robert Louis Stevenson’s gothic horror novella JEKYLL & HYDE opens the amateur theater group’s 2021 season.

This Spotlight focuses on Gina D'Acciaro, an actress in Los Angeles for over 19 years who I first met when she was a member of the Actors Co-op Theatre Company in Hollywood and appeared in their production of the Kander and Ebb musical revue a?oeWorld Goes Round.a?? Gina is now a regular performer at Rockwell Table & Stage in Los Feliz, as well as the creator of entertaining YouTube videos.

Imagine my surprise, even before the September 15 DIRTY TRICKS with The New Bad Boys of Magic monthly event, when I walked into The Three Clubs to find the room where I have seen dozens of shows over the years now completely remodeled to look and feel like a real cocktail lounge performance space! And what a perfect place to sit up close and personal during the ongoing monthly comedy-magic variety s featuring Chicago natives and Los Angeles residents, now headliners at the world-famous Magic Castle, Daniel Donohue and Eric Siegel, collectively known as The New Bad Boys of Magic, along with a rotating cast of the world's foremost professional prestidigitators and other adult variety acts, making it an entertaining evening for the over 21 crowd.

Fresh off the success of their Beyond the Ingénue project, TURN TO FLESH PRODUCTIONS (TTF) is expanding their mission to create “New Shakespeare Plays” not only for womxn, but for all artists underrepresented in Classical Theatre.

Outcry Youth Theatre's epic telling of this brand-new adaptation of the Arthurian legend brings new life and meaning to the classic tale. The show ambitiously spans the entire life of Arthur, from a boy of eleven to an aging king, and features many unforgettable characters, from Guinevere and Lancelot to Morgan le Fay and Merlin. This incredible story has it all: action and adventure, love and romance, myth and magic. From the sword in the stone to the Knights of the Round Table, the treasured stories are there but presented with a modern twist that forgoes the pretense of olde English language or the confines of a sequentially delivered narrative. Outcry Theatre artistic director Becca Johnson-Spinos directs a cast of 39 youth actors at the Addison Theatre Centre's Studio Theatre.

Spamalot retells the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table, and features a bevy of beautiful show girls, not to mention cows, killer rabbits, and French people. Did we mention the bevy of beautiful show girls? The 2005 Broadway production won three Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and was followed by two successful West End runs. Performances are July 12th thru the 21st, 2019 and will be held at the Wigwam Theater (10190 Blacklick-Eastern Road Northwest, Pickerington, OH 43147) with showtimes at 8:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays and 2:00 PM on Sundays, July 12-21, 2019.
