Inspired by playwright Simon Stephens' (The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, Harper Regan) own experiences as a teacher, Punk Rock is an honest and unnerving chronicle of contemporary adolescence at the breaking point. Punk Rock is inspired by the 1999 Columbine High School shooting, which Stephens believes "left its scar over the beginning of the 21st century."
In the mid-seventies, Adam Ant joined the band Bazooka Joe as a bassist; they played pubs and colleges around London. On one decisive night in November 1975, Adam saw The Sex Pistols playing their first-ever show, supporting Bazooka Joe. The explosive punk band inspired Adam to start something new.
The Feral Ghosts will release their long-awaited sophomore album Black Sun. The Chicago-based band made up of Raul Urquilla aka Annu Na Kll (vocals, bass), Alejandro Duran (guitar) and Roberto Lopez aka Luzy (drums) will celebrate the release of Black Sun with a hometown show at Soundgrowler Brewing Co. on Saturday, December 2.
The original line-up consisted of: Singer/Songwriter/Musician Annette Zilinskas (The Bangles, The Ringling Sisters, Medicine), Drummer Hermann Senac (Guilty Hearts, Crowbar Salvation), and Bass Player Ron Botelho (Groovy Rednecks). The current line-up includes veteran drummer Dave Frappier, who has been with the band since 1994.
