The 37th season of the Verdi Chorus continues with the Fox Singers , presented by the Verdi Chorus and the Sahm Family Foundation, in Songs of Fantasy  for one night only at the First United Methodist Church in Santa Monica on February 1, at 7:30pm.  Led by Founding Artistic Director Anne Marie Ketchum, the Fox Singers comprise the professional ensemble of the Verdi Chorus, which is the only choral group in Southern California that focuses primarily on the dramatic and diverse music for opera chorus. This program, devoted to all things fantastical, will feature enchanting  arias, duets and ensembles from the world of opera, as well as beloved songs from the canon of mid-century American musical theater, including Mozart's The Magic Flute, Donizetti's L'elisir d'amore, Bernstein's Peter Pan and Candide, and more!

Holiday Rock & Roll Bash Raises More Than $1 Million For The Lustgarten Foundation

On Tuesday, Dec. 3, The Madison Square Garden Company (NYSE: MSG) and AMC Networks (NASDAQ: AMCX) hosted the 19th Annual Holiday Rock & Roll Bash benefitting the Lustgarten Foundation, the world's largest private funder of pancreatic cancer research. The Foundation's premier fundraising event, the Bash raised more than $1 million this year. Thanks to separate funding to support administrative expenses, 100 percent of every dollar raised goes directly to pancreatic cancer research.

Elvis' 85th Birthday to be Celebrated Over Four Days at Graceland

Music fans from around the world will travel to Elvis Presley's Graceland® in January to celebrate the King of Rock 'n' Roll's 85th birthday. Actress/singer par excellence Lisa Donahey presented her Big 50th Birthday Bash at Feinstein's Upstairs at Vitello's Friday July 19 and did an encore performance Sunday July 21. I attended Friday and had a great time. Donahey has an infectious personality. Her charisma is enormous, as she talks directly to her audience, including them in the repartee - with a bevy of surprises - and has a joyous time doing it. Backed by six extraordinary musicians* with virtuoso musical director David Arana at the keyboard, the show came in at almost two hours, but was so enjoyable, the time flew by, literally. Donahey had two glorious backup singers Lyndsay Dodoras and Billye Johnstone
