Kim's Convenience brings the heartwarming story of a Korean-Canadian family to the stage, exploring the complex dynamics between a stubborn father, Appa, portrayed by James Yi, and his ambitious daughter, Janet, played by Caroline Donica in her UK debut. The production, directed by Esther Jun, captures the humor and tension inherent in their generational differences and immigrant experience. Joining them are Candace Leung as Umma, Daniel Phung as Jung, and Andrew Gichigi as Alex. This play, based on Ins Choi's award-winning script, resonates with themes of identity, belonging, and family relationships that transcend cultural boundaries.
