Velma, a vaudeville star already convicted for her crime, sees Roxie as a threat to her fading spotlight. The musical unfolds through a series of sharp dialogues, witty lyrics, and dazzling jazz-inspired choreography, all delivered with a healthy dose of cynicism and dark humor.
Chicago is a celebrated musical, having held the record for the longest-running American musical on Broadway until surpassed by The Phantom of the Opera.
