EDINBURGH 2018: BWW Q&A- Matt Price

BWW catches up with Matt Price to talk about taking Last Night A Weegie Saved My Life to the 2018 Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Tell us a bit about Last Night A Weegie Saved My Life.
It's a story about a year of my life that was a total disaster, but in hindsight very funny. There are twists and turns in it that I didn't see at the time.

The main story about me looking like the worlds worst stalker for a year (I was going out with a woman but she didn't tell me that she wasn't going out with me) triggered a memory of something that happened to me when I was younger and changed my entire life. It sounds deep, but it really isn't. I laugh about it all now, or most of it...

What sets it apart from other comedy shows at the festival?
I've never heard a story like this. But I do think that audiences will find it easy to relate to at some level. I've made it easy to relate to I think. So far, it has been well received in previews and feedback has been good. There are many great shows at the festival, which is why I'm pushing myself this year to do something even better than in previous years.

Who would you recommend comes to see you?
Anyone who likes a really good funny story will enjoy this. It's a bit sad in places, but it has a very happy and upbeat ending, which is what I'd like to see if I were going to watch a show. The journey will be a mixture of emotions, but mainly funny.

And who would you recommend maybe doesn't?
It's not suitable for children under the age of 16 because of some of the subject matter involved. I don't sing, juggle or do any clowning. All of which are great styles of shows.

Are there any other shows you're hoping to catch at the festival?

Martha McBrier, Larry Dean and Yianni all have shows that I would like to go and see. There are so many good ones that I don't really know where to begin.
