The Toxic Avenger, The Musical is a superhero satire based on the cult classic film, following Melvin Ferd, a mild-mannered earth scientist in the pollution-plagued town of Tromaville, New Jersey, who is thrown into a vat of radioactive sludge and emerges as the monstrous yet endearing Toxic Avenger. The show features a book and lyrics by Tony Award winner Joe DiPietro and music and lyrics by David Bryan, keyboardist and founding member of Bon Jovi. The Los Altos Stage Company production is directed by Doug Brook, with musical direction by Gus Kambeitz and choreography by Brittany Watts. The cast features Harker Russell, Kennedy Johnson, Molly Thornton, Gary Stanford, and Max Mahle.
