This October, Spooky Lights returns with a brand-new batch of eerie short plays written by the devilishly clever Lauren Doyle. And for the first time ever, we’re bringing the chills off the airwaves and onto the stage.
Join us for a live, in-person staged reading at City Lights Theater Company, featuring a frightfully talented cast playing a variety of roles: Kyle Smith, Vanessa Alvarez, Alycia Adame, Arturo Montes, and Gwynnevere Cristobal. The play titles are: Lights, Remains of the Night, Remember Me, Six of Spades, The Red Halloween and Valentine.
As in years past, Spooky Lights will be an audio program on Filament, so we’ll be recording at the Oct. 12. event. So whether you join us in person or tune in later, the spooky spirit lives on.
Guests will enjoy complimentary snacks, drinks, and festive party favors throughout the evening. Plus, a costume contest! Come dressed to impress, terrify, or delight, and you might just walk away with a prize. Costumes aren’t required, but they’re highly encouraged. After all, this is Halloween with a theatrical twist.
Spooky Lights has always lived in your headphones. Now it’s stepping into the spotlight. Come celebrate with us; where the stories are strange, the snacks are sweet, and the vibe is delightfully haunted.
Lauren Doyle is a disabled, neurodivergent, and queer writer, actor, and director whose work is based in the South Bay. Their most recent role is the Duchess of York in Silicon Valley Shakespeare’s production of Richard III, directed by Doll Piccotto. Lauren holds a B.A. in Art History & Visual Culture and a minor in Theatre Arts from San Jose State University, where they graduated with summa cum laude honors in 2012.
