In a sprawling mansion of her own design, Sarah Winchester navigates a complex legacy of guns, grief, and ghosts. She’s lost everything of value — her husband, her child — and gained a fortune. Her net worth can be measured in dollars… or blood. The confounding splendor of her new California home invites wonder and rumor. But tonight, before the legends about her harden into merely a draw for a tourist attraction, the heiress of the Winchester Repeating Arms Company gives a personal tour of her conspicuous dwelling for a few lucky guests. Be among them.
National Delivery presents, Mrs. Winchester, or, A Gun in the First Act. Written by Joe Christiano and performed by Lisa Morse, this solo-character play invites you into the legendary Winchester House in San Jose for a personal tour given by its sole designer and occupant: Sarah Winchester herself. The play lasts about an hour, and everyone is welcome to stay afterward for a discussion with Lisa and Joe. The last time it performed at City Lights was in March 2025, and now it’s back by popular demand!
This event is part of City Lights’ calendar of special events. Keep checking our website throughout the year as we add new concerts, performances and parties!
