Prepare for Suspense, Spies, and Side-Splitting Laughter!
Bay Area Stage Theatre proudly presents Alfred Hitchcock’s The 39 Steps — a fast-paced whodunit packed with murder, mystery... and a mind-boggling number of accents!
When dashing bachelor Richard Hannay (played with utmost charm by Juan M. Curiel II) finds himself tangled in a plot involving secret agents, mysterious women, and a suspiciously musical memory act — he does what any innocent man would do: runs across Scotland in a trench coat.
But wait — there’s more! Three actors play over 150 roles. Yes, you read that right. Susanne Taussig transforms between three wildly different women faster than you can say “MacGuffin,” while Philip Sales and Bill Chessman (as Clown 1 and Clown 2) pop in and out of costumes and dialects with dizzying speed. It's Hitchcock meets Monty Python — with a bagpipe.
